Brunch at the Beach

 

We had the good fortune of having a business trip to south Florida this past year, a place that is incredible to visit for obvious reasons; The weather, atmosphere, people, attractions, accommodations and of course 'The Food'. South Florida, home of the beautiful cities of Miami and Miami Beach where all the aforementioned things are accentuated by the sun and the surf.

Our last weekend there we wanted to wrap it up with a memorable meal in lavish surroundings so we opted for Emeril's Miami Beach for brunch followed by a day in the surf. Emeril's Miami Beach located in the Loew's Hotel and Resort was an excellent choice.

Emeril's Miami Beach offers several deals on their menu for various service times and we were fortunate to be able to experience their pre-fixe brunch menu; 3 courses for just $36 per person. With two of us dining we always like to order different items from the menu and share, so we can taste more per course.

We started with a;

Smoke salmon salad with caviar canapes

This dish was very light and satisfying as it had just the right amount of dressing to complement all the other ingredients.

Gumbo of the day - Duck

This dish was hearty and rich with flavor from the deep rue. The duck meat retained a nice amount of heat from cayenne pepper but was not over powering.


Our next course brought us two familiar dishes done Miami style

Emeril’s Eggs Benedict

Cured Ham, Smoked Cheddar-Onion Biscuit, Poached Eggs, Hollandaise Sauce

This dish brought a whole bunch of flavors together topped with a very light hollandaise sauce. The poached eggs were cooked perfectly paired with the smoked onion biscuit that made this dish delightful and delicious.

Grilled Prime Ribeye

Sunny Side Up Egg, Bordelaise Potatoes, Tabasco Honey Vinaigrette

Once this plate arrived before us we were a little concerned that it would be very filling. We were pleasantly surprised that it was proportionally the perfect amount of food and incredibly delicious.
